CoalShed - Room 2

Lovely stylish small hotel only let down by other guest. Positive: Self check-in was simple, communication was clear and the room was very comfortable. Loved the style and facilities. Surrounding area is a little let down but there’s nice places to eat within walking distance. Negative: Rooms are opposite an active common space with kitchen and snack bar. My first night everyone was respectful and left by 10pm. Second night some guests thought it was fair to start playing snooker playing music at 1:30am.

Great idea, poor comfort.. This place needs to work on the basics and it would be perfect. Positive: The concept of this place is good, nicely layed out. Like the honesty box idea and bar, pool tables and ping pong. Good location, good showers, Air-con a welcome addition although faulty Negative: With any stay my priority is always comfort and getting a good night's sleep, this did not meet that expectation. We stayed in room 2. An air conditioning unit making a droning sound routinely that lasted 4-5 seconds probably every 5-10 minutes. And then the bed/mattress had a huge dip in the middle so me and my wife were stuck together in the middle of the bed and I woke up with a bad back having a poor night's sleep.

Positive: Air conditioning really helpful and the room was clean and tidy.

We had a lovely stay in the CoalShed Positive: The games made available were enjoyable, the AC was on before we arrived so the room was cool. The honesty bar is a plus and there was a common kitchen, a large fridge with much stuff left over by former customers. Also the price is worth it. Negative: The matress was average, there was a hollow in the middle of it. The walls are very thin so you can hear people coming back late.
